Edo`s Camp - Kalahari Desert - Botswana

The Entrance of Edo's Camp

Edo's Camp is located in a 120,000 hectare game conservancy, in the western Kalahari, which is home to a small, but growing, population of white rhino, amongst many other species.

The camp overlooks a waterhole, allowing for some good game viewing. Accommodation at Edo’s is in 4 luxury tents, set under thatch, and on raised wooden decks. The tents are all en suite, with shower, flush toilet, and a bath. This small camp prides itself on personalised service, and in giving you a truly memorable Kalahari experience.

You can explore the area on morning and afternoon game drives, giving you the chance to see not only the rhino, but also  giraffe, plains zebra, brown hyena, kudu, impala and oryx, to name but a few. In the evenings you may also see the elusive aardwolf.

Guests can also enjoy a walk with a San tracker – searching for white rhino on foot. In addition, you can join the ladies of the village in gathering roots and plants – giving you an incredible insight into traditional ways of life.

Edo's Camp offers a rich cultural experience where you can meet two diverse lifestyles of the people in the area, firstly the San that reside in a small community within the grounds of the conservancy and the optional activity of witnessing a traditional bushman dance. It is also possible for those staying several days to visit the nearby museum at D'Kar. A percentage of the nightly rate is donated to a local orphanage/Day Care Centre.

An advance booking can also be made for an evening of traditional song and dance from the D'Kar village (or similar) – there is an additional cost.

Back at camp, you might just choose to relax at the pool, or watch the waterhole, and its steady parade of wildlife.

Edo's Camp is also the base of a Young Explorer's Kalahari package, which is a family safari led by a specialist guide that tailors the safari to suit children as young as 6 years old.

Camp is closed in December and January
