Situated on the northern boundary of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Central Kalahari Game Lodge is set in a typical Kalahari landscape with Deception Valley itself passing through the property for some 14 kilometres. The Lodge is in a private concession of some 30 000 hectares. Wildlife is especially plentiful partly due to excellent vegetation and also the abundance of artificial waterholes that dot the property.
The main lodge complex consists of an open-plan lounge, and bar, with Boma. There is also an observation deck, which offers some excellent panoramic views, including the waterhole – which is a great point for wildlife viewing.
Accommodation is for 14 guests only, in comfortable, semi-detached, thatched chalets, each boasting lounge, and en-suite bedroom.
All activities are conducted by a guide and a San (Bushman) tracker - arguably the best trackers in the world. The Lodge offers day and night game drives, guided walks, and San interpretative walks.
Game is plentiful on the property with large herds of Gemsbok, eland and blue wildebeest together with a host of other large and small mammals. Predators are very active with a large resident lion population, and other predators seen on a regular basis include the elusive brown hyena, cheetah, leopard and the occasional wild dog.
